Top TRM students to speak at graduation Friday

With graduation ceremonies set for Friday evening, two T.R. Miller High School Students will be among the featured speakers for the event.
Valedictorian Christian Ellington and Salutatorian Cole Kelley are busy finalizing their speeches for the commencement ceremony set for 6 p.m. at Coastal Alabama Community College’s auditorium.
Ellington is making plans to attend the University of South Alabama to pursue a degree in computer science. He hopes complete his studies with an honors degree and begin working in the field of technology.
Kelley plans to attend Auburn University where he will pursue a degree in accounting. Following his graduation, he hopes to find himself as the CFO of his own company in 10 years.
Ellington credits his parents as helping with his career and college decisions.
“My mother and father have had the biggest impact on my college choices,” Ellington said. “They are the ones that have guided me the most throughout my life.”
Kelley also said his parents have been influential in his decisions.
“My parents have had the biggest influence over my choices for my career,” Kelley said. “Because they constantly push me to be my best and support me every step along the way.”
Ellington says he enjoys schools, but also enjoys playing video games and coding. He is also a member of the National Honor Society at TRM.
Ellington is the son of James Brock and Kandice Ellington and the grandson of Jane Ellington, Robert Ellington and Dorothy Reaves.
Kelley attends First Presbyterian Church and includes hunting and fishing among his favorite activities. He also enjoys a variety of sports and particularly enjoys golf.
Kelley is the son of Kevin and Angie Kelley and is the grandson of Ray and Melby Kelley and Bill Patton.
Attendance for Friday’s ceremonies will be by ticket only due to limited seating.
