DWM names new lab director

If you visit the hospital or medical center labs for testing, there is a new leader in charge of the workings of the labs.
D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital announced that Vicky Whitehurst has been named Laboratory Director. In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating all laboratory services at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, D.W. McMillan Medical Center and Flomaton Medical Center.
“Vicky is familiar with our organization and has been working with us as a Medical Technologist in the Lab since June 2022” stated Stacy Hines, Hospital Administrator. “We are so glad she has accepted the Director position and we are looking forward to working with her in her new role.”
Prior to joining D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, Whitehurst worked in the Lab at Andalusia Health, Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, and at L.V. Stabler Hospital in Greenville. She has over 20 years of laboratory experience in a hospital setting.
Whitehurst earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, Colo. She is also a graduate of George Wallace Community College in Dothan with an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Technology Degree and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia, with an Associate of Science Degree.
