Several organizations are coming together to provide screenings and information to help area residents get a handle on their health.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration, Southwest Alabama Health improvement Initiative, Southern Alabama AHEC and Rural Alabama Prevention Center will be hosting a Community Health Fair on Saturday, July 29 beginning at 10 a.m.
The location for the fair will be the John L. Fisher Community Center at 301 Liles Blvd. and will be open until 1 p.m.
Organizers say a brief health session will be provided on mental health awareness and diabetes during the event.
Screenings for diabetes and blood pressure will be provided throughout the day.
Information on health issues including COVID vaccines and testing; health eating and tips on self-care and exercise will also be a part of the planned available details.
