Activities abound in city Saturday

Finding something fun to do outdoors this Saturday will be a piece of cake with several city-wide events planned.
The Lions Club will be hosting their annual Car Show beginning at with car arrivals at 8 a.m. in downtown Brewton at the Camp 31/Hourglass location. Judging will be complete with awards presented at 2 p.m. The event is open to the public at no charge.
The Witches of Brewton will be taking “flight” beginning at 3 p.m. The ride will leave the Brewton YMCA campus at 3 p.m. and proceed through Brewton down Belleville Avenue. The landing will be at Market Park in downtown Brewton with a special finale dance performed by Witches of the ride. There is a fee to participate in the ride with registration closing at 2 p.m. at the YMCA location. For more details, find the Witches of Brewton page on Facebook.
The Escambia County Habitat for Humanity will be hosting a Fall Fest – fun day at Market Park in downtown Brewton beginning at 3 p.m. There will be a carnival-like atmosphere with games, prizes, a cake walk, dessert tasting event and a Pie-In-The-Face of local leaders set for 6 p.m. There will be a charge for some events taking place during the afternoon festivities. Vendors will also be on hand with arts and crafts and food will be available including Pig Daddy’s BBQ and Brewton Brewton.
The Cold Moon Festival will be the finale of the day of events. The Cold Moon Festival, a nod to the works of author and screenplay writer, Michael McDowell, will feature some fan favorite performances with headliner Grayson Capps with Corky Hughes. Kicking off the evening of entertainment will be the Andrew Duhon Trio beginning at 4 p.m. Capps and Hughes will follow that peformance.
