The Brewton Council of the Arts is making plans to entertain the community in January with two great performances. For the young actors in the community, the Missoula Children’s Theater will have the Little Red Truck arrive on Monday, Jan 15 for auditions and week of rehearsals for those chosen for “The Secret Garden” production. The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Woodfin-Patterson Auditorium.
Then on the following Thursday, Jan. 25, the stage will be filled with music, stories and laughter as Sean Dietrich and Three on a String are set to perform. Known as “Sean of the South” Deitrich will sing and play and mix in a few stories as well — possibly about his ties to Brewton. In addition, Three on a String, a trio of musicians (and comedians) will be sure to have you tapping a toe and laughing along. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for each of the performances and will be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance tickets may be obtained by contacting a member of the Brewton Council of the Arts through Facebook or at their website at brewtoncouncilofthearts. com. For ticket information, contact Susan Miller at 251-363-0176 or by email at sdibrell@mchsi.com.
