City sets schedule for 2024 events

Coordinating events throughout the community takes some work and planning, and that work has already been put into action.
According to the latest calendar of events posted on social media, events are planned as early as Jan. 20, 2024.
A Winter Remble through the E.O. Wilson Nature Adventure will be held Jan. 20 beginning at 10 a.m. On the same day, a Chalk the Town event will be held at the Brewton Mural downtown. Local artists will be on hand to work with children to create artwork with all chalk provided.
February will feture a Mardi Gras Ramble 5K run.
The annual Come Fly With Me event is set for March 2 complete with kites. There will be games and a free lunch at Dogwood Hills. On March 30, the annual Eggciting Egg Hunt will be held with a Bunny Run 5K mixed in.
In April, the Spring Ramble at E.O. Wilson Nature Trail will be April 6. Other April events will include the annual Murder Creek Mud Run, Earth Day celebrations and Kick It At The Creek.
In May, the Brewton Police will host a softball tournament with the Brewton Fire Department hosting a fishing rodeo.
June will find a Blueberry Festival Street Dance and Festival.
July 20 has been set for the annual Friends and Family Day with the Battle of Burnt Corn Reenactment on July 27.
In August, the Chamber will host their annual Golf Tournament and the City’s concert series will begin.
September will find a Public Works fishing rodeo, Bike Your Kid to School day and Sister Fest.
October will see Brewton Blue Kickback, the Chamber’s annual Rodeo event, a Fall Ramble and Cold Moon Festival.
In November, expect the annual Porchfest event and a Veteran’s Day celebration, A Turke Tro 5K, the annual Holiday Kickoff and CeleBrewton Lights begin.
December will wrap up the year’s events with a Jingle Bell Run, the annual Christmas Parade, Luminaries, and of course, fireworks on New Year’s Eve
