An Atmore died in a Monday morning crash near I-65 on Jack Springs Road according to information from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division.

Ellis E. Lee, 87, was fatally injured when the 2019 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving was struck by the 2014 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Patrick M. Bankester, 56, of Bay Minette. Ellis was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Jack Springs Road near Interstate 65, approximately three miles north of Atmore, in Escambia County.

No further information concerning the crash was released by officials reporting the incident.
