A donation to the Brewton-based Paws Crossed Dog Rescue organization was made last week and the donations are sure to put some spring in the step of the canine recipients.
Thanks to donations on the Brewton and Atmore campuses of Coastal Alabama Community College, Paws Crossed volunteers were able to take away an abundance of food, toys and bedding for the animals in the rescue.
One organizaer for the donation drive, Pamela Allen, said the event couldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the help of staff of CACC.
“We would like to thank both Atmore and Brewton Campus Directors Dennis Fuqua and David Lanier for allowing us to do this at the College Campus,” Allen said. “We also want to thank Jennifer Pollitte who spread the word for us. This was very meaningful to us to be able to help Paws Crossed. They take on such a huge job of taking care of all these dogs. The students and instructors worked hard on bringing in the items donated.”
Allen said the project was a success, but more help is needed.
“We hope that others will see the need of this group and donate as well,” Allen said.
