Earlier this week, members of the Brewton City Council were presented with a proposed budget for FY2025. In that budget, City Clerk Brooke Hartin said the committee was “conservative” with their figures presented to the council.

“We begin our process in April and May with reports that we send to department heads,” Hartin said. “They return reports to us explaing what is needed. After compiling the information, we meet with the maoyr and schedule a meeting with the budget committee. Once that meeting is done, we send a budget report to the councilors for approval.”

In the FY 2025 budget, Hartin said their were increases in every department across the board.
