Drivers who frequent Wallace Road in Escambia County may experience some detours and/or delays in the coming week.

According to County Engineer Parker Ross, the Escambia County Highway Department will be performing work to replace cross-drains and remove the railroad crossing on Wallace road beginning Monday, Aug. 26.

The road will be temporarily closed from Wallace Baptist Church to the railroad crossing Monday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 30.

The Department apologizes for any inconvenience this closing may cause, but appreciates patience while the necessary improvements are made to Wallace Road.
