The T.R. Miller Tigers took to the highway Thursday to travel to Montgomery to play the first game of the season at Crampton Bowl for the AHSAA Kick-Off Classic taking on the Reeltown Rebels.

Quay McCants gets the ball from QB Nathan Commander and finds the end zone for the Tigers’ first score of the season. An Eli Hubbert kick is good and the Tigers are up first, 7-0.

Reeltown works quickly to take their chance at finding the end zone and are able to cross the goal line for their own touchdown. A good PAT ties the game at 7-all late in the first quarter.

As the second half begins, the Tigers kick to Reeltown but a determined Tiger line puts pressure on the Rebels and force a fumble recovered by Quay McCants. Over the next few plays, the Tigers would edge closer to the end zone with Johnson crossing the goal line for another Tiger TD. A good PAT puts the Tigers up 14-7, midway through the third quarter.

Recovering the ball on a fumble, the Tigers make good on the possession and quickly find the end zone. A good PAT puts the Tigers further in the lead, 21-7.

Following the end of the game and the Tiger win, a trophy for the winner of the AHSAA Kick-off Classic Battle of Champions was presented to T.R. Miller. The win in the game, marked another milestone for the Tigers as the “Winningest Team” in the state of Alabama.
