The search continues for the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of Aubrey “Mackie” Jackson last week in a remote area of Escambia County.
Officials with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed mid-day on Monday that no arrests have been made in the case.
Jackson, 35, was found shot to death along an area on Appleton Road near the Conecuh County line on Saturday, Aug. 17 just after 9 p.m.
At that time, Escambia County Sheriff Heath Jackson said the death was evidently from a gunshot wound and that the investigation would move forward as a homicide.
Anyone with any information on the circumstances of the incident or who may have been a witness, is urged to contact the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at 251-809-2154.
