Supporting the residents in the communities they serve, Gulf Winds Credit Union has stepped up to providing needed funding for programs in Escambia County.
Gulf Winds recently made a donation to the Escambia County Area Agency on Aging in Atmore. Gulf Winds Credit Union’s charitable arm donated $5,000 to support the agency’s ongoing work to provide local seniors with opportunities to socialize, access nutritious meals, and receive vital supportive services, a mission Gulf Winds strongly believes in.
The Agency on Aging is a cornerstone of the Atmore community, dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors. Because of donors including Gulf Winds, the agency has been able to undertake important renovations to ensure the seniors have a safe and supportive environment to host joyful gatherings, play board games and activities, and much more. These contributions ensure that the community’s seniors not only receive the care they need, but also enjoy a vibrant and fulfilling quality of life.
“At Agency on Aging, we have accomplished so much because of Gulf Winds generosity,” said Shelia Brown, Director of Escambia County Area Agency on Aging. “So many of the seniors have requested that we take a day trip and due to not having enough transportation to carry everyone we haven’t been able to. So, this year, with Gulf Winds additional gift, we may be able to grant those wishes.”
Gulf Winds is proud to stand by the credit union motto, People Helping People, giving communities support and resources needed to flourish.
