The business district of East Brewton is continuing to see growth, thanks to the opening of Scott’s Outdoors at 800 Forrest Avenue.
The opening of Scott’s Outdoors was heralded with a special ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning at their East Brewton location. The store is a new addition to the Scott’s family with the home offices located in Jay, Fla.
East Brewton officials are excited about the growth being seen in the city over the past few months. Jack’s Restaurant opened on Aug. 5 and has been bustling since opening.
East Brewton Mayor Terry Clark said the newly-opened retail store will be an asset to the city.
“This new store will help East Brewton considerably,” Clark said. “With the growth we have seen in the last couple of months, we are excited for the tax revenue that it will mean for the city. Our city as a whole will benefit from these businesses being here in East Brewton.”
Clark said other negotiations are in the works to bring more businesses to East Brewton.
Scott’s Outdoors is located next to the old Fred’s location on Forrest Avenue and will be offering a complete line of outdoor items including guns and ammo, supplies and apparel.
