W.S. Neal Schools celebrated homecoming last Friday with a full day of events and festivities.
The Friday night game was in question at one point on Thursday with the Blountstown, Fla., team being in the bullseye of Hurricane Helene overnight on Wednesday. The school made a special effort to find a route to East Brewton to play the game for the homecoming celebration.
The parade was attended by a huge crowd gathered along the streets of East Brewton for the event.
W.S. Neal’s King and Queen took center stage at the head of the parade while floats filled with former W.S. Neal students brought up the finale of the event.
King Ja’Sean Jones and Queen Carlye Wiggins were escorted by members of the court preceding them in the parade.
Alumni members from 1959 through 2019 threw treats and waved to the crowd as the parade rolled through the city.
