The W.S. Neal Eagles hosted Escambia County High School in East Brewton Friday night in a region game.
The Eagles worked hard through the first half finding gifts along the way. Recovering an on-side kick, the Eagles take the ball on a trip to the end zone and a touchdown. Later in the second quarter, the Eagles would recover a fumble and make a three-yard run into the end zone for more points on the board.
As the half-time clock ticked down the final seconds, the Eagles make a kick return to the seven-yard line and threatening a TD with just two seconds left on the clock. Unable to find the end zone on the one chance play, the Eagles take the lead to the locker room at the half, 28 to 13.
As the Eagles work to keep the lead in the second half, the team would put more points on the board while ECHS was unable to find the end zone again.
The Eagles would find the end zone three more times before the final buzzer sounded. The region win for the Eagles came with a 53-13 scorecard.
The Eagles will be on the road next week as they travel to Jackson to take on the Aggies in another region game. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
