Gulf Coast Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) awarded W.S. Neal High School $16,930 for their project “Baseball Field Leveling”.
This project assisted Neal Varsity Baseball with funds to conduct renovations which will improve the playing surface of the high school baseball field. These needed renovations in turn improved the safety for the players and individuals participating on it, improved the aesthetic value of the field when visiting teams and the public visit our campus/facilities, and it improved the longevity of the field itself.
Due to the upgrades the appearance of the field has improved, drainage has improved, the ability of the field to withstand traffic has improved, and the newly installed irrigation has ensured the growth of the turf grass year-round.
On hand for the presentation were: WSN Head Football Coach, Hugh Fountain, Escambia County Board Member, Nell Wiggins, Senator Greg Albritton, Assistant Principal Robert Whitfield, Gulf Coast RC&D Vice Chairman, Raymond Wiggins, WSN Head Baseball Coach, Mike Roberts, Escambia County Board Member, Frank Nalty, Gulf Coast RC&D Executive Director, Charlie Ramsey.
