In a hard-fought battle in Brewton, the T.R. Miller Tigers came out on top over the W.S. Neal Eagles in the 82nd meeting of the two teams.
The Tigers took the lead early putting 20 points on the board before the end of the first quarter. Before the buzzer sounded at the half, the Tigers would put another TD and extra point on the board taking a 28-0 lead to the locker rooms.
It would be in the last third of the third quarter before the Eagles found the end zone. A two-point conversion failed but the Eagles put their first score on the board making the score 28-6.
In a full-field return, the Tigers took the ball on a 60+ yard run into the end zone and another TD. With a good PAT, the Tigers stretched the lead 35-6.
The next score would come just a few plays into the fourth quarter when the Tigers find an open spot and run into the end zone. A good PAT makes the score 42-6.
The Eagles make a magical run with a 60+ yard run into the end zone and more points on the board. The two-point conversion fails, but the Eagles tighten the gap, 42-12.
A TRM fumble recovery ended with more points on the board with a TD and a good PAT giving the Tigers 49 on the board.
As the final buzzer sounded, the winners of the Battle of Murder Creek were found in the T.R. Miller Tigers.
