The W.S. Neal Eagles traveled to Montgomery Friday to take on the St. James Trojans in the first round of 4A  play off action.

The game would be a back-and-forth battle between the two teams with no score through the entire first half of play.

Late in the third quarter, St. James would find some footing and put a man across the goal line after a pick-six on a WSN pass. The PAT was no good, holding the Trojans to 6.

It would be early in the fourth quarter before W.S. Neal had a man cross the goal line. ST Clark would score the first WSN points on the night. Kevin Howard ran a two-point conversion play for the Eagles to add more points. That would put the Eagles up 8-6.

The Eagles would find the stamina to make good on another possession mid-way through the fourth quarter. QB Jarrod Crook made contact with Jabrei Mackey on a 41-yard pass and into the end zone for more Eagle points. Kevin Howard crossed the line again on a two-point conversion putting the Eagles up, 16-6.

Those would be the final points of the game with the Eagles securing a Round 2 play off spot.
