With delays in construction overcome, the move of the United Bank Brewton branch is nearing a reality.

Originally, the new location at 1515 Douglas Ave., was expected to be ready for occupancy in October. But, those delays are now behind contractors and the move is ready to take place.

Russell Barnes with United Bank’s Brewton branch, said the entire staff is ready for the move.

“We are happy to make this move,” Barnes said. “We will be closed on Friday (Jan. 3, 2025) as make the physical move to the new location. We will have all of our computers, phones, and equipment ready to serve customers on Monday, Jan. 6.”

Barnes said the lobby hours at the new location will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Drive-through hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As a reminder, Barnes said businesses who have change orders should take care of those orders on Thursday. No night drops should be done on Thursday at the current location, but those drops should be made at the 1515 Douglas Ave. location.

“Everyone here will be busy with the move on Friday,” Barnes said. “We will have plenty of help from our retail team, our IT team and all of the staff to make the move of our equipment to be ready to serve our clients on Monday morning.”
