Escambia County and Brewton City School officials are calling off classes Tuesday and Wednesday with the impending winter storm expected to hit the area overnight into Tuesday.

On Sunday, Escambia County School Superintendent Dr. Michelle Collier made the call to dismiss school on Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition to all classes being canceled, any planned sporting/extracurricular events have been canceled as well.

The same call was made by Brewton City School officials on Monday morning announcing the closing of schools for Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

Both school systems will monitor weather conditions as the historic storm passes through our area. Any additional announcements will be made as they are warranted.
