Trio arrested on multiple charges; one suspect at-large

Brewton Police have taken three suspects into custody in a shooting case on Sowell Road. One suspect in the case remains at-large.

On January 26th, 2025 at approximately 2 a.m., Brewton Police Officers responded to a shots fired call on the 1300 block of Sowell Road. It was determined that several shots had been fired in to a residence, but no persons were injured from the gunfire. A traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle that was observed fleeing the scene. After a pursuit, the vehicle was stopped and four possible suspects were detained.

On Sunday, witnesses along U.S. 31/South Boulevard witnessed activity of Brewton Police and other law enforcement in an area stretching from Brewton into the Pollard area.

Brewton Police Investigators were later able to gather enough evidence to obtain warrants of arrest on all four subjects that had fled the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Shakera Nicholson(27, Brewton) was taken in to custody on January 26th is charged with Attempted Murder, Shooting in to an Occupied Dwelling, and Attempt to Elude.

Jalen Martin(22, Atmore) and Ahmad Dailey(24, Atmore) were arrested in Atmore by the US Marshals Service on January 29th for Attempted Murder and Shooting in to an Occupied Dwelling.

Scottie McNeal(27, Atmore), the 4th suspect, has not been taken in to custody yet but is wanted for Attempted Murder and Shooting in to an Occupied Dwelling.

Brewton Police offered thanks to the US Marshals Service, Flomaton Police Department, Atmore Police Department, and Escambia County Fire and Rescue for their help with the case.
