Bonner returns to house subcommittee

U.S. Representative Jo Bonner, R-Alabama, has been renamed vice chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies for the 113thCongress.
Appropriations Committee Chairman, Rep. Hal Rogers, R-KY, announced Rep. Bonner’s reappointment Thursday. Rep. Bonner previously served as vice chair of the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Subcommittee during the 112th Congress.
“I am honored to once again be called to serve as vice chairman of the Commerce, Justice and Science Subcommittee,” Rep. Bonner said. “The CJS subcommittee has oversight over a broad range of federal agencies with local impact from the National Marine Fisheries Service to the Justice Department.
“In my role as vice chair, I will assist subcommittee chair, Rep. Frank Wolf, R-VA, in conducting hearings and in exercising oversight over federal government activities under the subcommittee’s jurisdiction.”
Congressman Bonner has been a member of the full House Appropriations Committee since 2007 and a member of the CJS Subcommittee since 2009.
The Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Subcommittee oversees funding of the Department of Commerce, the Department of Justice, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, the Commission on Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the International Trade Commission, the Legal Services Corporation, the Marine Mammal Commission, the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Office of the United States Trade Representative, and the State Justice Institute.
