JDCC Baseball to host MVP Camp Dec. 27-29
Jefferson Davis Community College will be holding the Most Valuable Player Baseball Camp at Warhawk Field Dec. 27-29.
Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Players age six to 18 are eligible to participate. Registration fee is $90 for players who register by the end of Dec. 22 and $115 for players who register Dec. 23 or later. Registration will be accepted through the first day of camp. First day camp registration will begin at 8:15 a.m.
Hitting, pitching and defensive skills will be taught.
JDCC coach Darrell Blevins and guest instructors are conducting the camp. One confirmed guest instructor is Florida Marlins hitting coach Jim Presley, who will be present at the Dec. 27 session.

BMS-Carver contests
to be played at Carver
Brewton Middle School's boys and girls basketball contests against Carver Tuesday have been moved from Brewton to Carver.
Game time remains unchanged. Play starts at 4 p.m. with the girls contest.
YMCA basketball league
registration still available
The Brewton Area YMCA is accepting registration for its youth league basketball through Jan. 3.
Players in grades first through seventh are eligible to play. Registration fee is $33 for members and $66 for non-members.
Evaluations for first and second grade players will be Jan. 4 at 5:30 p.m. Third and fourth grade player evaluations will be Jan. 5 at 5:30 p.m. Evaluations for fifth through seventh grade players will be Jan. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Practices will begin Jan. 8. Practice and game schedules will also be released that day.
Games will be played on Mondays and Thursdays starting Jan. 22 and lasting through Feb. 19.
