T.R. Miller Tigers football coach Jamie Riggs is spending the next four days in San Antonio, Tx. as a participant in the American Football Coaches Association annual convention.
Riggs is representing the Alabama Football Coaches Association. Riggs has served as the president of that organization since its birth two years ago. Several Alabama Football Coaches Association board members are accompanying Riggs on the trip.
This is Riggs' second trip to the convention. He attended the 2004 event, which was held in Orlando, Fla.
Riggs said one of the main reasons why the Alabama Football Coaches Association board is attending is to get ideas on how to run their own organization.
Riggs said the agenda at the last convention he attended consisted of anything and everything that has to deal with football. He expects a similar experience this year.
Riggs estimates the convention will draw somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 coaches from across the country.
