TRM and WSN softball to play in TRM Invitational Friday and Saturday

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger and W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball teams will play in the T.R. Miller Invitational Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2, in Brewton at the YMCA Sports Park. A total of eight teams will play in the tournament.
T.R. Miller will be in pool A with Escambia County, McGill-Toolen and Davidson while W.S. Neal will be in pool B with J.U. Blacksher, Houston Academy and Daleville. Choctaw County dropped out and was replaced with Daleville—who is coached by former T.R. Miller Lady Tiger player and assistant coach Terri Lynne Peacock.
Pool A will play on field D at the YMCA Sports Park while pool B will play on field C.
The tournament will begin on Friday, at 4 p.m., T.R. Miller will play Escambia County on Field D while W.S. Neal will play J.U. Blacksher on Field C.
At 5:15 p.m., McGill-Toolen will play Davidson on Field D while Daleville and Houston Academy will play on Field C. At 6:30 p.m., McGill-Toolen and T.R. Miller will play on Field D while W.S. Neal and Daleville will play on Field C. At 7:45 p.m., Davidson and Escambia County will play to end day one while J.U. Blacksher and Houston Academy will play on Field C.
The tournament will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. when T.R. Miller will play Davidson on field D and J.U. Blacksher will take on Daleville on field C.
At 10:15 a.m., Escambia County and McGill-Toolen will play on Field D while W.S. Neal and Houston Academy will tangle on Field C.
Following an 11:30 a.m. to noon lunch break, the single elimination tournament will begin at noon.
At noon, the No. 1 seed from pool A will play the No. 4 seed from pool B while the No. 1 seed from pool B will play the No. 4 seed from pool A.
At 1:15 p.m., the No. 2 seed from pool B will play the No. 3 seed from pool A while the No. 2 seed from pool A will take on the No. 3 seed from pool B.
All winners will advance to play at 2:30 p.m. with winners from that game playing for the tournament championship at 4 p.m.
All teams are guaranteed four games and trophies will be presented to the first and second place team.
Last year’s tournament saw T.R. Miller take down W.S. Neal for the championship while the Lady Eagles took the runner-up trophy.
