Mrs. Mary Esther Dixon, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in a local hospital. She was a native of Bluff Springs, Fla., and had been a resident of the Brewton area since 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Holiness Church, where she served as a pianist. She was preceded in death by a son, Willie Charles Brantley Jr.
She is survived by her husband, John Coley Dixon of Brewton; a son, George (Chris) Brantley of Brewton; three daughters, Sharon (Michael) McCurdy and Susan (Jerry) Stout, both of Brewton, and Rachel Watts Lundy of Mobile; three brothers, W.C. (Jeanette) Cardwell and Johnny (Barbara) Cardwell, both of Brewton, and Elton (Bobbie) Cardwell of Castleberry; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Brewton Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Byrnes Pitts and the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial will follow at Dixonville Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Joe Migas, Jeff Kirkland, Larry Dixon, Robert Walther, Lavon McNaughton and Bill Thompson.
