Mr. Clevie Leon Dubose, 96, of Damascus Road, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and former resident of Covington County, before moving to Damascus in 1939. He was a retired farmer and of the Assembly of God faith. He was instrumental in helping to organize the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by a son, William “Jr.” Clevia (Barbara) Dubose of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Betty J. Lambert of Damascus; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral servives were held Tuesday, March 27, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Monroe Sasser and the Rev. Eddie Hammac officiating. Burial followed in Damascus Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
