Mr. Thomas Edward Blair, 78, of Horton Avenue, East Brewton, died Friday, April 20, 2007, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Brewton and a longtime resident of East Brewton. He was a member of Cedar Hill Methodist Church, U.S. Army veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge and retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 32 years of service as a rural carrier.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Edward Blair Jr. of Phenix City, and Dennis Arthur (Connie) Blair of Lowndes; one brother, Charlie Blair of East Brweton; three sisters, Rogene Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., Lucky Hoomes of Pace, Fla., and Reba Clayton of East Brewton; three granchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Dyal officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
