Coy Griffin Goolsby

Mr. Coy Griffin Goolsby, 84, of Eby Street, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala., and was a retired carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith, U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Weaver Goolsby of East Brewton; three sons, Michael (Mary Jean) Goolsby and William (Cherri) Goolsby, both of East Brewton, and Tony (Deanna) Goolsby of Louisiana; a daughter, Betty (Paul) Thompson of Brewton; a brother, Willis Goolsby of Auburn; twelve grandchildren, Scott Goolsby, Ashley Goolsby McInnish, Kim Bedsole Odom, Kevin Bedsole, Jamie Kilcrease, Brandy Lucas, Johnny Goolsby, Cody Goolsby, Christina Beckwith, Emley Beckwith, Toni Goolsby and Taylor Goolsby; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Kent officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery in the Appleton community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Scott Goolsby, Jamie Kilcrease, Kevin Bedsole, Danny McInnish, Allen Goolsby, Ricky Goolsby and Cody Beasley.
