EB 10U all-stars go 0-2 Saturday

After an opening round bye Friday night after Tri-County dropped out the tournament, the East Brewton 10U baseball all-stars started their tournament on Saturday and suffered two quick losses to go 0-2 in tourney play.
East Brewton kicked off their tournament with a 13-0 loss to Opp Saturday. In their second game of the day, East Brewton suffered a 17-1 loss to Covington County in a loser’s bracket game to be eliminated.
In game one, Opp used a six-run second inning to get the ball rolling against East Brewton before plating three in the third inning and four more in the fourth to get the 10-run mercy rule win in four innings.
Thomas Glisson pitched for Opp in the win. East Brewton was held to only two hits in the loss while Opp pounded out eight in the win. East Brewton made nine errors in the loss.
Isaac Smith and Konner Wood pitched in the loss for East Brewton with Smith being the pitcher of record.
Jacob Bondurant and Caleb Sexton had East Brewton’s two hits.
In game two for East Brewton against Covington County, things favored the game one loss for East Brewton as they took a 17-1 loss.
Covington County plated four runs in the first, three in the second and used a 10-run fourth inning to put the game away. East Brewton plated their lone run of the game and the tournament in the bottom of the forth when Samuel Bosarge scored on a passed ball.
Wood, Smith and Bondurant pitched for East Brewton in the loss with Wood being the pitcher of record.
East Brewton had no hits in the loss while Covington County had 20. East Brewton made five errors in the loss.
