A second Atmore man has been arrested and charged in a case East Brewton police have been working on for two weeks.
Michael Shawn Kaylor was arrested Sunday and charged in connection with a break-in at the TMC Motorsports location on Forrest Avenue in East Brewton.
Kaylor has been charged with third-degree burglary and  third-degree criminal mischief charges in connection with a break-in on July 6, according to officials.
East Brewton Police Chief Kenny Brazile said the arrest came after one arrest prompted an investigation into the incident.
“There were some inconsistencies in this case that prompted a continuation in the investigation,” Brazile said. “As we investigated we gathered enough evidence and information to issue a warrant for Kaylor’s arrest.”
Kaylor was arrested without incident Sunday and was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where he was booked on the charges against him.
A week ago, Donald Ray Barnhill, also of Atmore, was arrested for his part in the break-in at the East Brewton retail store.
Brazile said a tip from an alert citizen in the area allowed officers to make the initial arrest in the case.
“It was great to have someone be observant enough to see something unusual and to give us a call,” Brazile said. “Because of that call, two people have been charged in this case.”
Brazile said the assistance of the Flomaton Police Department was helpful in making the arrest in the case as the agencies worked in conjunction with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department.
TMC Motorsports is located at the intersections of Alabama 41 and U.S. 29 in East Brewton.
Kaylor was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where he was booked on the charges against him. He remained in custody in lieu of a $20,000 bond as of press time. Barnhill remained behind bars on a $15,000 bond as of press time.
