Mr. Joseph Andrew Peterson Sr., 68, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at an Atmore hospital. He was a native of Conecuh County and a longtime resident of Atmore. He was a member of Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church and had worked for Escambia Glass Company.
He is survived by a daughter, Doritha (Homer) Brown of Montgomery; four sisters, Mary Peterson, Lillian Day and Brenda Thomas, all of Brewton, and Nan Mosby of Castleberry; seven brothers, Caleb (Mattie) Crook, Rex (Sylvia) Crook, David (Linda) Crook, all of Brewton, Charles Crook and Raymond Peterson, both of Atmore, Lawrence Peterson of Birmingham and Frank (Cora Lee) Jones Jr. of Ashville, N.C.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Willie Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow at Stallworth Cemetery in Atmore with Turner Funeral Chapel of Atmore directing. His body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
