WSNMS baseball cruises against Monroeville to stay undefeated

W.S. Neal Middle School’s baseball team outscored Monroe County 33-5 Friday to sweep a home doubleheader and move to 6-0 this season.
W.S. Neal won game one 20-2 and took game two 13-3.
In game one, W.S. Neal held Monroeville to two runs in the first inning before scoring nine runs of their own in the first and 11 more in the second to get the 18-run win.
Kristian Taylor was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs while Matt Hutchins was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and also scored two runs.
Hunter Revel went 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI and scored three runs while Jacobey Hawthorne was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and scored three runs.
Hutchins earned the win on the mound as he went two innings and allowed two runs, none earned, allowed no hits, walked two and struck out four.
Westin Riddle pitched one inning and allowed one run, no hits, walked one and struck out three.
In game two, W.S. Neal scored six runs in the first inning, three in the second and four in the third while surrendering only three runs in the third inning.
Hawthorne was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and scored one run while Connor Huskey was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored three runs.
Hutchins was 1-for-2 with one RBI and scored two runs, Revel was 1-for-2 with one RBI and scored two runs. Aaron Bosarge went 1-for-1 with one RBI and scored one run.
Hawthorne was the pitcher of record and earned the win going three innings and allowed three runs, one earned, two hits, walked two and struck out seven.
Huskey allowed no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out three in one inning of work.
