WSN softball ends three-game losing streak with big area win at Bayside Academy

W.S. Neal’s Lady Eagle softball team ended their three-game losing streak Thursday with a big 13-1 area win over Bayside Academy in Daphne.
Bayside’s lone run came in the sixth inning, but well after W.S. Neal had already built a 13-0 lead. W.S. Neal scored three runs in the first inning, two in the fourth and blew the game open with eight runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Haleigh Dubose was the winning pitcher for the Lady Eagles as she went six innings and allowed five hits, one run, none earned, walked one and struck out seven.
The Lady Eagles had 11 hits in the win with Adria Barnett, Tori Wyatt, Christina Robinson and Madison Winchester all having one hit each. Dubose had two hits along with Erin Hartsel while Karissa Johnson went 3-for-4. One of Dubose’s hits was a double.
Wyatt had one RBI along with Kaeli Brown, Robinson and Hartsel while Dubose had three for the Lady Eagles.
With their 12-run win Thursday, W.S. Neal improved their overall record to 10-7 and to 2-2 in area play.
