In set two, Myra Reiss had six service points and six assists while Peach had four kills. Warren had four kills while Harrison had three kills and two blocks.
“Jay is a very good team,” TRM head coach Greg White said. “They are well-coached and disciplined. We played hard and had chances to win, but we just didn’t make plays when we had a chance and they did. I’m proud of out effort though.”
Against Straughn TRM regrouped after losing the first set 25-8 to win set two 25-22 and set three 15-13. No stats were reported for set one.
In set two, Warren had five service points and three kills while Smith had four service points and five assists. Peach and Harrison had three kills each while Taylor Austin had two kills.
In set three, Smith had five service points and four assists while Warren had three kills. Peach had three kills and two blocks and Madison Douglas had six digs.
“We were awful in game one,” White said. “No other way to put it. We changed our mindset in games two and three and had to really play hard and grind it out. One of our players went down with an injury and after that the team rallied together and found away to win. I’m extremely proud of the way they battled back. Both games tonight provided us with great challenges that will prepare us for the area tournament and hopefully beyond.”
