WSN football defeats Satsuma, clinched playoff spot

SATSUMA— The W.S. Neal Eagle football team defeated the Satsuma Gators 47-21 Friday for their fourth straight win and to clinch a playoff spot.
The Eagles of East Brewton rushed for 474 yards with Malcolm Hawthorne leading the way with 238 yards on 20 carries and had five touchdowns.
Quenton Samuel added 150 yards on 20 carries and had one touchdown.
The game was tied 7-7 after one quarter and led 21-14 at the half.
In the third quarter, WSN outscored Satsuma 12-7 to grab a 33-21 lead heading to the fourth.
In the fourth, WSN outscored the Gators 14-0 to get the win by 26 points.
WSN improved to 5-2 overall (does not count first win over Bishop Snyder) and 3-2 in region play.
