Paul Michael Carter

Paul Michael Carter, 50, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Peabody, Mass., passed away Tues., Feb. 17, 2015, after a long struggle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence A. Carter.
He is survived by his spouse, Edwin D. Graves Jr.; his mother, Jean Carter of Peabody, Mass.; sisters, Judith (Colby) Wetmore of Dracut, Mass., and Karen (Tom) Guy of Peabody, Mass.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., on Dec. 30, 1964. He was a graduate of Northeastern University where he earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in economics in 1987. He earned his master’s degree in information systems from The George Washington University in 1993.
Before retirement, he worked for many years as a sales executive at Research in Motion (Blackberry). He was an avid world traveler throughout his life, logging many wonderful trips with his spouse and dear friends throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, North America, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
He was a longtime member of All Souls Memorial Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.
He was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2004 and underwent two lung transplants over the subsequent 10 years in an effort to fight the disease.
He was appreciative for those life saving organ donations and for the love, care and support he received from his spouse, friends, family and the INOVA Fairfax Hospital lung transplant program staff during every phase of his illness.
He was a loving husband, son, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held on Sat., March 21, at 2 p.m. at All Souls Memorial Episcopal Church at 2300 Cathedral Avenue, Washington, D.C., 20008.

Donald Wayne Huie
Brewton

Donald Wayne Huie, 66, passed away on Sat., Feb. 14, 2015, in Clio.
He was born in Century, Fla., and had been a resident of the Brewton area since 1986, coming from Pensacola, Fla.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a carpenter by trade and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Barker Huie of Moyeville; two sons, Guy (Minerva) Huie of Houston and Steven (Mari Lois) Huie of Pace, Fla.; two daughters, Misty (Kenneth) Smith of Milton, Fla., and Christal (Amos Andrews) Hardy of Moyeville; three brothers, Bruce Huie, Jim Huie and Tom Huie, all of Pace, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Bobby Kitchens, Lauren Huie, Tiffany Hardy, Jordan Smith, Eddie Craig, Dylan Andrews, Tristan Huie and Corbin Huie.
Funeral services were held Sat., Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Waylon Stuckey officiating.
Interment followed in the Moyeville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Authur Burkett, Robert Burkett, Steven Huie, Alfred Bell, Jim Huie, Josh Huie, Amos Andrews, Dylan Andrews and Christopher Bullard.

Rosie Lee Kennedy
Brewton

Rosie Lee Kennedy, 55, passed away Wed., Feb. 18, 2015, in a Pensacola healthcare facility.
She was a native and long-time resident of Brewton. She was a homemaker and was a member of Wild Fork Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Hobbs; and sons, Timothy and Ray Hamric.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Kennedy of Brewton; her mother, Stella K. Hobbs of East Brewton; two sons, Tommy Kennedy and David Kennedy, both of Brewton; one daughter, Martha Kennedy of East Brewton; a brother, Lavon Hobbs of East Brewton; a sister, Marie (Ray) Hudson of Brewton; five grandchildren, Brittany Kennedy, Chase Kennedy, Trinity Kennedy, Chance Werthen, and Joel Ray Kennedy; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Sat., Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating.
Interment followed in Ft. Crawford Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terrence Prime, Jamar Prime, Grady Story, Kenny Lambeth, Chance Werthen and Lonnie Barnes.

Ballard Haigler

Brewton

Lynda Claire Ballard Haigler, 72, of Escambia Avenue Brewton, passed away Saturday night, Feb. 21, 2015, in a local hospital after a brief illness.
She was a native of Troy, and a long time resident of Brewton.
She was a member of the Brewton First United Methodist Church, attended T.R. Miller High School, was the former secretary for the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Murray Lamar Haigler of Brewton; one son, Ian Haigler of Shanghai, China; one sister, Roberta (Steve) Evans of East Brewton; and three grandchildren Molly (JT Woods) Haigler, Cianan (Xiao Xiao) Haigler and Zoe Haigler.
Graveside services were held Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Green Acres Cemetery with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Ellis Lamar Blair
Berrydale, Fla.

Ellis Lamar Blair, 72, of Berrydale, Fla., was born on Oct. 1, 1942, to Mary and Riley Blair. He passed away on February 17, 2015.
He was a great loving husband, father and grandfather. He was devoted to Church of Christ, loved quail hunting, fishing and watching Alabama football.
He was a very hard worker and devoted most of his life to processing meat. He started out at Daulphin Burgess, worked at container in Brewton, ran his own meat processing business for 27 years, and Blair’s Tote-A-Bag for 14 years where he recently retired.
He was well-known for his work habits, was loved by everyone and would do anything to help you. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Blair; parents, Mary and Riley Blair; one brother, James Blair; and four sisters, Lucille Beasley, Ollie Mae Cooper, Rosa Lee Pettis and Pauline Weaver.
He is survived by four children, Lisa (Kenny) Tedder, Ken (Cindy) Blair, Tony (Beverly) Blair and Deborah (Mike) Pilgrim; six grandchildren, Nakisha (Jared) Gandy, Latisha (Myles) Lecesse, Trenton Blair, Allison Blair, Blake Pilgrim and Kaylen Blair; two great-grandchildren Landyn Cooley and Eligh Lecesse; and also a great grandchild, Zachariah Gandy who will be arriving in May. He is also survived by two sisters, Pearl Stone and Rogene Hammock, and many nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral services were held Sat., Feb. 21, at Jay Funeral Home with Brother Pete Davis officiating. Burial followed at RLDS cemetery in Berrydale, Fla.
Pallbearers were Russell Beasley, Royce Beasley, JoMack Pettis, Lester Cooper, John Dunn, and Bill Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were Speedy Nelson, Billy Hines and Larry White.

Michael Allen Bradley

Michael Allen Bradley, 61, of Middlecreek Road Wing, passed away Sun., Feb. 15, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Okaloosa County, Fla., a former resident of Pensacola, Fla., before moving Wing.

He was a 1971 graduate of Woodham High School, attended Pensacola Junior College, and was a former administrator at Sacred Heart Hospital.
He is survived by Lance, Ann, Janet, Barbara, Bill, Jean, Frank, Ken, Chris, Riley, multiple cousins, and especially the Bradley Assembly of God Church Family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Angelyn Palmer Bradley; and a baby sister, Elaine.
Funeral services were held Sat., Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bill Flannigan and the Rev. David Harrison officiating. Interment followed at Bradley Church Cemetery in Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Alma Pierce Allan
Castleberry

Alma Pierce Allan, 88, of Pierce Lane Castleberry, passed away Sun., Feb. 22, 2015, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Castleberry, a former resident of Mobile, before moving back to Castleberry in 1995. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by nieces, Carolyn Laster of Castleberry, Jean Aldridge of Fairhope, Sandy Cobb of Montgomery, Allison Pierce of Montgomery; nephews, Kenny Pierce and Paul Pierce of Wetumpka, Donnie Kast of Evergreen, Wayne Langham of Saraland; brother, Leonard (Jean) Pierce of Wetumpka.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Ferol Jernigan King and Tony King.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday morning, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Cooper officiating. Interment followed in New Hopewell Cemetery in Castleberry, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

James Fuqua
Brewton

James Coleman Fuqua, 18, of Barrentine Road Brewton, passed away Saturday night, Feb. 21, 2015, in Pensacola, Fla. after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native and life long resident of Brewton.
He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, attended W.S. Neal School before enrolling at Escambia Academy where he played football and was on the weight lifting Team. He was a member of the graduating class of 2015.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Joyner Fuqua of Brewton; an aunt, Sara Owens Phenix City; cousins, Cody Owens, Heath Owens, and Shannon Odom; special friends, Todd White, Kriss White, Cade White, Will Hendrix, Blaklee Hendrix, Coach Hugh Fountain and many friends and classmates.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Earl “Fuzz” Fuqua; and his grandparents Coleman and Ethel Fuqua.
Visitation will be held tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday afternoon, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Kemp officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Brewton, Alabama with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Isiah Williams
Lafayette, Ind.

Isiah Williams, 90, of Lafayette, Ind., passed away at 2:42 a.m. on Sun., Feb. 22, 2015, at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Born July 29, 1924 in Dothan, he was the son of the late Ed and Julia (Abram) Williams.
He earned his bachelors degree in Building Construction from the Tuskegee Institute. He honorably served as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army, building bridges in Korea. He knew every bridge from the front to back.
Williams worked in extrusion at Rea Magnet Wire for over 30 years. He was a member of Old Landmark Church and was an entrepreneur and offered janitorial services. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed yard work.
Surviving is his wife, Christine (Baxter) Williams; three sons, Isiah Williams Jr., Aaron Lorenzo Williams and Andre Eugene Williams all of Lafayette; a daughter-in-law, Jo Williams of Lafayette; a brother Willie B. Williams of Alabama; and two grandchildren, Jourdan Williams of Indianapolis and Zach Williams of West Lafayette. He was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th St., Lafayette, Ind. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Pastor John Wilburn officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, Ind.
