T.R. Miller Lady Tigers softball pitcher Taylor Austin and Myra Reiss combined to pitch a one-hitter against Hillcrest Monday to propel the Lady Tigers to a 19-0 win. The win starts the 2015 season for the Lady Tigers with a 1-0 overall record and a 1-0 record in area play.
Austin was credited with the pitching win as she got the start and went the first two innings of the three inning game and allowed one hit, no runs, walked one and struck out five.
Myra Reiss closed the game by going one inning and struck out two.
TRM led Hillcrest 4-0 after one inning and 11-0 after two innings before exploding for eight runs in the third inning to help them get the win by the 15-run mercy rule in three innings.
At the plate for the Lady Tigers, Madison Douglas was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple while Steely Ruzic was 1-for-1.
Mallori Floyd went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a double while Reiss was 1-for-1 with a double and one RBI.
Alexis King added a hit and two RBIs while Amelia Peach had one RBI. Grace Ruzic went 1-for-1 with a triple and had one RBI.
