DANIEL DOUGLAS NELSON SR.

Daniel Douglas Nelson Sr., 70, passed away Thurs., April 2, 2015, in a Dumas, Ark., hospital.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Catawba Springs Cemetery on Sat., April 11, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Hemley officiating and visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.

He was born in Brewton and had been a resident of Jay, Fla., prior to moving to Arkansas and was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Isabel Nelson, and a sister, Mary Agnes Nelson.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Nelson of Ore City, Texas; two sons, Daniel (Becki) Nelson Jr. of Flomaton and Mack (Karen) Nelson of Pinellas, Fla.; two daughters, Kathy Marie Nelson of Appleton and Faith Nelson of Nebraska; three brothers, Tommy (Katie) Nelson of Brewton, Anthony Dewitt (Yong Cha) Nelson of Pensacola, Fla., and Lawrence Earl (Shirley) Nelson of Brewton; two sisters, Ruby Jean Davis of Gonzalez, Fla., and Elizabeth Sue (Wayne) Horton of Jay, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

BOBBIE LUCILLE HAMMAC EVANS

Bobbie Lucille Hammac Evans, 81, of Hwy. 41, Brewton, passed away Monday evening, April 6, 2015, at a Jay, Fla., hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs., April 9, at 2 p.m., at Craver’s Funeral Home with interment following in Hanberry Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

She was a native and life-long resident of Brewton and was a homemaker of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her sons, Ray (Nancy) Evans of Flomaton, Ronnie E. (Kathy) Evans of Stockton and Herbie Evans of Brewton; brother, Cyril (Ethel) Hammac of Brewton; sister; Bernice Hammac of Century, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; James L. Evans, and son, Kenneth James Evans.

NADIE MCDONALD RYALS

Nadine McDonald Ryals, 81, of Westside Road, Castleberry, passed away Tuesday morning, April 7, 2015, at her residence after an extended illness.

Visitation will be held on Thurs., April 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Fri., April 10, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Andy Peavy officiating and interment following in Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry. Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. of Brewton is directing.

Born in Lenox, she was a resident of Castleberry for the past 57 years and was a homemaker and member of Hartwood Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, William Ryals of Castleberry and Eddie (Terisa) Ryals of East Brewton; four daughters, Carolyn (Donnie) Darby of Castleberry, Charlene (Edward) Ridgeway of Evergreen, Christine (Phillip) Pugh and Toni (Chris) Anderson, all of Castlebery; two sisters, June (James) Alford of Lenox and Bonnie McDonald of Mobile; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Eugene and Gladys McDonald; husband, Tommy Ryals; grandson, Michael Anderson; and brother; Billy McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Jason Anderson, Jeremy Clifton, Don Darby, Dewayne Ryals, Gene Ryals, Tyler Baker and Brad Dawkins.
