TRM’s Manning named DYW Saturday

T.R. Miller senior Morgan Manning was chosen as the Escambia County Distinguished Young Woman Saturday.
Morgan, along with the six other contestants including first alternate Jarelle Hooks of Flomaton, is sharing in more than $680,000 in scholarship funds.
Saturday was filled with a tremendous outpouring of talent and beauty as contestants, who also included Mikayla Spruill representing Escambia Academy; Mercedes Butler, Kaitlyn Abbott and Madison Buffington representing FHS, and Mykayla Harrison representing TRM, took to the stage.
“I’m just so blessed,” Manning said after the night’s show. “I can’t believe it. What an amazing experience this has been.”
Hooks was heard expressing her gratitude to those on stage.
“What an amazing night,” she said.
The young women earned scholarship monies from schools such as Troy University, Randolph College, Faulkner University and others.
