TRM holds football banquet Thursday night at FBC

The 2015 T.R. Miller football team and cheerleaders were honored with a football banquet Thurs., Jan. 14 at First Baptist Church in Brewton.
The 2015 Tigers went 10-3 for the season and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs. The Tigers were also region champions going undefeated at 6-0. Players and cheerleaders, along with a special award to quarterback club president Randy Winton, were recognized and given their “M” letters along with certificates. Also, 13 senior football players were recognized and given framed letters and certificates along with their white jerseys. To view a photo gallery of the night’s awards, click here.

Receiving special football awards were, Alex Daugherty (Coaches’ Award), Jake Najor (Outstanding Blocker), Tamerick Jenkins (Team Captain), Tripp Floyd (Team Captain and Larry Rampey Most Valuable Defensive Player), Chardian Johnson (Most Valuable Offensive Player), Kishan Patel (Team Captain) and Caleb Winton (John Finklea Outstanding Christian Athlete).
To close out the ceremony head coach Jamie Riggs was given a special tribute by his assistant coaches with the presentation of a highlight video commemorating his 27 years at T.R. Miller. The coaching staff also presented Riggs with a framed memorabilia consisting of a plaque, picture and his worn game-day tie.
