Neal boys win, girls suffer loss against Flomaton

Big second quarter lifts Neal boys past Hurricanes
The W.S. Neal B-team and varsity boys picked up wins, while the girl’s varsity suffered a loss against Flomaton Thursday evening.
FHS 27, Neal 32 (B-team)
Flomaton led at the half 16-15. Neal outscored Flomaton 17-11 in the second half to bring home the win.
Leading Neal was Marvin Maddox with 14 points; and Ricky Samuel with nine points.
The Neal B-team finishes its season 13-5.
FHS 62, 52 (girls)
Neal got off to a slow start in the first quarter with Flomaton outscoring the Neal 19-11. Flomaton led at halftime 36-27. The second half played closely for both teams, with Flomaton besting Neal 26-25 to come out with the win.
Leading the Lady Eagles was Keke Floyd with 19 points and seven rebounds; and Kametria Lawson with 14 points.
Neal is 9-14 for the season.
FHS 41, Neal 59 (boys)
After being outscored 11-6 in the first, Neal had a breakout second quarter outscoring Flomaton 22-4 to take a 28-15 lead into halftime. Neal outscored Flomaton 31-26 in the second half to get the win.
Neal had four players to score in double figures. Leading the team was Tyshawn Davis and Darius Tolbert with 14 points each; Troy Lewis with 13 points; and Jacobey Hawthorne with 10 points.
The boys are 19-6 for the season.
Neal will play at Robertsdale tonight in their final regular season game of the season. Games start 6 p.m. for girl’s varsity followed by the boy’s varsity at 7:30 p.m.
