The Pollard boat ramp is not open for fishermen.

The announcement was made Monday by county engineer Bill Bridges as crews attempt to finish the renovation project at the site.

For months, weather has plagued the project’s completion; however, Bridges said he believes crews will be finished with the project soon.

“We should be through with the dirt work this week,” Bridges said. “(Alabama) Freshwater Fisheries have hired a contractor to come in after that, so hopefully, it won’t be much longer before it’s finished.

“I would like to remind people that the landing – which is going to be a pretty site when it’s finished – is closed while work is ongoing,” Bridges said. “So, we ask that fishermen not come in until we’re done.”
