There are no new leads in the case of missing Brewton teen, Brooke Lee Bridges.

Bridges, 17, was last seen at her Alco Community home more than a week ago and is classified as a runaway on the state law enforcement agency’s website. ALEA and the Brewton Police Department report that on Aug. 27, Bridges left the home and did not return. Her direction of travel remains unknown.

Teen missing for 1 week

Bridges, who is described as 5’2, 100 pounds with brown eyes and green hair, was last seen wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Bridges made headlines and sparked a massive, multi-region search effort when her family found their front door open and the teen missing in February. Both authorities and her family remain tight-lipped on what happened during the span of time the teen was gone; however, police said Bridges contacted police and was later located at a home outside of Atlanta 53 days after she was reported missing.

Bridges mother, Lisa, told other media outlets that a boy her daughter met on the internet coaxed the teen away from home, and she believes this is the case again; however, local police have not confirmed it. No charges were filed in the previous missing person case.

Police told The Brewton Standard last week that the girl left the home willingly and left a note for her family to find that read, “Be back soon.”

The Bridges family said the teen’s note included more information; however, Mrs. Bridges declined to comment further.
