Flomaton High School is now out of lock down after the social media “Flomo Klowns” alias made threats of school violence.

Flomaton Police Chief Bryan Davis issued the “all clear” just after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Escambia County (Ala.) Schools Superintendent John Knott told The Brewton Standard that earlier media reports of spotted instances of the “klowns” at FHS and Escambia County High School in Atmore were untrue. However, the lock down precautions were being taken as part of the system’s safety protocols.

“We heard the reports that the clowns were spotted near the grounds, but none of our school personnel were able to substantiate that,” Knott said. “But, in this day and time, we have to take all threats seriously.”

Nothing was found inside the school or school grounds, officials said.

The Brewton Standard has learned the parent of an FHS student alerted police this morning after her child received an invitation from the “Flomo Klowns” persona, while there are reports from the public that the persona also messaged W.S. Neal students.
