TRM girls place 3rd, Nelson earns 2nd

Nearly 30 teams competed Saturday in the T.R. Miller Challenge cross country race and ended with the Lady Tigers claiming a third place overall finish.
With 113 runners recorded, TRM senior Allie Nelson was second overall across the finish line in the girls’ competition with a time of 19:07, while Olivia Blackmon, an eighth grader, finished 13th overall with a time of 21:42. Senior Carmen Knowles ended the day at 19th overall with her time of 22:26.
Other top finishes for Miller included:
• Madison Lum, 22:51;
• Hanna Douglas, 22:59;
• Rebecca Ann Moore, 23:34; and,
• Elisabeth Coleman, 23:52.
The Flomaton Lady Hurricanes finished at 14th overall in the competition with Kristin Coleman coming across the line first for the team in 24:20. Mackenzie Morrison, a seventh grader, finished at 26:55, while fellow seventh graders Patricia Rogers finished at 27:06 and Sara Whitworth finished in 30:53.
In the boys competition, the winner was West Florida Technical with a combined score of 81 points, while the Tigers finished seventh with a combined score of 179 points, while Flomaton finished at 17th with a combined score of 447.
TRM’s Travis Carlson was first across the finish line for the team with a time of 18:08. He was followed by Micah Flores, who finished 29th overall with a time of 18:52. Tailand Mitchell was third across for the team with a time of 19:21.
Duane Hamby, a senior, was first across the line for the Hurricanes with a time of 19:10. Dylan Patterson, a senior, ended with a time of 20:39, while Dustin Reaves finished with 20:41. Will Rollin finished at 27:25, and Logan Blancheri, a eighth grader, finished at 35:55.
