TRM student to be laid to rest

T.R. Miller students are mourning the loss of one of their own.
Murray was chosen as the face of a Children’s Hospital ad campaign.
Devontay Murray passed away on Thurs., Nov. 3 at UAB children’s hospital due to complications with sickle cell disease.
Funeral services will be held Thurs, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at First Saint Siloam in Brewton.
Visitation will be held today, Nov. 9 at Christian Memorial Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Murray is the son of Michelle Mallard of Brewton.
The 15-year-old ninth grader enjoyed drawing cartoons and watching sports, especially his favorite teams the Florida Gators and Golden State Warriors. Mallard said her son always kept a smile on his face.
“He was your typical average kid who just loved life,” Mallard said. “He never showed how sick he was. He was a loving, caring child.
“Everybody loved him. He was an angel here and now he’s an angel up in heaven. I just want to say to him that ‘Momma and your brothers will always love you’.”
