Hillcrest sweeps Miller again

It was another close game between the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and Hillcrest-Evergreen Lady Jaguars. A Miller win would tie the matchup at one apiece to force a coin toss for area tournament seeding. Hillcrest would have no such hypothetical discussions.

After trailing since tip off, Miller clawed its way back into the game with less than two minutes to play in the fourth quarter. With the score 37-34, Hillcrest made three free throws to extend its lead by six. Miller’s Jakyra Spears added a layup to make the score 40-36.

Hillcrest added another free throw to make the score 41-37 in its favor. With Miller’s chances dwindling, Longmire connected for a three-pointer to draw the Lady Tigers to within a bucket. The three-pointer was the last score for Miller. Hillcrest closed out the game with free throws going 6-of-8 from the line.
