The W.S. Neal Eagle softball team recently won its first game of the season, defeating Florala on the road 11-0.
Keeping Florala off balance the whole evening was Ashli Wyatt who tossed a perfect game. Wyatt struck out 10 batters in five innings of work. The seventh grader also helped her cause at the plate, knocking in two runs.
Neal scored its first three runs in the top of the third inning off sacrifices from Ashli Wyatt and Jena Wyatt, and a pass ball that plated Madison White. Natalie Wyatt singled and Ashli Wyatt connected for a sacrifice fly that plated two runs in the third inning. Neal scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning, the biggest hits coming from an Erin Salter double that scored two runs and a Tori Wyatt triple that scored three runs.
Leading the Lady Eagles at the plate was Tori Wyatt who was 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Erin Salter was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Natalie Wyatt was 3-for-4 with an RBI. As a team the Lady Eagles had 13 hits.
Neal lost to Central Florida earlier in the week, 7-0.
